Big game this week. Winner takes first place in the NFC east with only two games left to play. I feel it will take and extra effort on our part to pull our eagles through. That is why I'm happy to announce that this weekend I'll be representing Eagles Beards nation at the game. That's right, I'm going behind enemy lines, but I'm not scared, no, I'll be decked out in Eagles gear and cheering them on. I'll be vibing it up, and channeling your vibes through me. Huge game tonight guys! I am feeling confident but I know that the Giants and the Redskins are two very different teams. I'm anxious to see Vick against the giants' defense, whose DE Justin Tuck said this: "It's kind of like that Super Bowl for us,'' Tuck said. "Think about it -- all week before that game, all we heard was [Tom] Brady and [Randy] Moss, Brady and Moss. We had no shot. It's like that this time, with Vick. Last time, we listened to it all week, then went out and beat them. That's a good way to motivate a team."

In one respect it's flattering to be compared to that historic offense, I would however prefer a different ending. All in all though, I am feeling really good about our chances tonight. How could I not? 4 pass TDs, 2 rush TDs, 300 pass yards, 80 rush yards last week. I really cant remember seeing a better all around performance ever! He's the hardest player in the NFL to game-plan for. Who would have thought that we would say that about our QB this year. Eagles!

Week 2

Oh my goodness...what a good Week 2. I don't know if any of you saw the Steelers-Titans game, but it was really exciting. Kick-off return for a TD, Hines Ward scuffling, Polamalu interception, seven Titan turnovers...it was intense, and ended in a great win. I am a little bit bummed that I didn't get the Eagles game down here--I had the Cowboys game instead--but congratulations on the win to you guys, as well. Jets upset the Pats, Cowboys start their season 0-2; definitely a good second week.

And hopefully this isn't poking a sore spot, but Donovan was definitely looking good against the Texans. I'm in Redskins territory here, so I'll get all their games, but at least I can support a player who has great heart; plus, I like Santana Moss. Even though the 'Skins couldn't pull out the W in overtime--I really don't like the practice of icing the kicker, so now I don't like the Texans--Donovan looked really good throughout the entire game. A wide range of receivers for 400+ passing yards, good looks down the field, good movement in and out of the pocket...good for him. It was a really fun game to watch.

Very much looking forward to the Mannings' battle in the night game! I like them both, but I think I'm rooting for Indy. Hm...

Bummer about the glasses, Yerg. See you guys next week!

DETROIT LIONS, MORE LIKE THE DETROIT TRYINS REALLY HARD TO NOT BE THE WORST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE

Oh by the way, this Eagles fan I was sitting with at the bar, while watching the game, was educated about the use of vibes and their positive effects. He proceeded to join me in doing it throughout the second half. It was awesome!

My Thoughts on Game 1

The game went from completely depressing to absolute excitement in a matter of minutes and that is solely because of the exciting play of Michael Vick and the sometimes awesome defense. When Vick went in I honestly wasn't expecting much but he moved the offense with his legs and arm in a way Kolb never could. I still put my support behind Kolb, but this performance, in his first game as the teams full fledged starter, was horrible. There really isn't anything positive to draw from it. I've tried. At least we have Detroit this upcoming Sunday, who look like a much improved team, but we still should be able to move the ball and make defensive stops. If Kolb's offensive problems continue for a few more weeks you know the fan-base will be screaming for Vick to take over and I will probably be one of them. I mean Vick looked great in there. Some of this can be chalked up to the Packers not being prepared for Vick as the full time quarterback in the second half, but the "I have no idea what he is gonna do?!" factor which comes with Vick on every snap is very appealing. He wasn't perfect however. He should have just ran it in, instead of throwing it that one time we were in the red zone, and that last play call on fourth down didn't use Vick's running strengths. Some of his throws were a little off target and our receivers always seemed to be on the ground when they caught it. However, all this being said, Vick simply impressed me.

I also agree with Kyle about the classic uniforms and the old logo on the field. It was really nice looking and I want some of that gear.

I have decided that the Eagles beard needs to documented since we all can't be together for the entire season.  Thanks to the interwebs, we can now blog our beards!  I'm mostly doing this because I don't want to analyze data right now, also I stumbled upon a document I made last season of Kyle-isms that I thought would be fun to review in preparation for the coming season.
